JAWS Power Tip: How To Chat with Picture Smart AI in JAWS
Released: 5/30/2024
In the March 2024 update of JAWS 2024, we introduced new functionality to the Picture Smart feature in JAWS. It now integrates with the latest AI technology to provide in-depth detailed descriptions of images.
In the May 2024 software update, you can send follow-up prompts or questions to the AI services to obtain additional details about a picture that may not have been covered in the initial description.
1.) Once you have performed a Picture Smart AI command such as INSERT+SPACEBAR, P, F to describe a file, and the description is displayed in the Results Viewer, press ENTER on the 'Ask Questions About This Image' link near the bottom of the window. You are immediately placed in an edit box.
2.) Type a prompt and press ENTER. For instance, for a picture of a beach at sunset, you might type, "Describe the colors of the sunset."
3.) After a few seconds, during which JAWS plays a sound to indicate progress, the Results Viewer window displays the response, and JAWS automatically reads it.
4.) Your focus remains in the edit box, so you can type another prompt. Prompts can include statements or questions.
5.) Your prompts and responses are maintained for the current Results Viewer session until you close the window. They are arranged by heading. Press H to navigate to each heading.
