JAWS Power Tip: How To Use the All-In-One Convenient OCR Keystroke in JAWS

JAWS for Windows Tips.

Convenient OCR is a JAWS feature that recognizes text from an image and places it in the results Viewer for review.

Multiple commands are available for recognizing text in different situations such as when focus is on an image file in File Explorer, in an open image file, or on an image on a web page.

The new all-in-one keystroke provides a single command for recognizing text in an image based on the currently open application or context, eliminating the need to remember multiple keystrokes. When focused on an image, press INSERT+SPACEBAR, O, then ENTER. Convenient OCR will recognize the context and display the text in the Results Viewer.

After reviewing the text, press ESC to exit the results Viewer.
