Greetings,

1) The epic work of literature Getting Started with the iPhone: An Introduction for Blind Users is now available from National Braille Press. Well, maybe it's not quite a literary classic, but I did co-author it with Anna Dresner, so I am rather partial to it. You can get it in paper or electronic braille, text, or DAISY.

2) The creators of NVDA are in danger of running out of money for their operation, showing that free screen readers are not really free.

3) Amazon.com is releasing a new version of Kindle for PC that adds accessibility features designed for blind and low-vision customers. If a screen reader is installed on the computer, allEnglish-language books in the 750,000 book collection can be read with the program's own synthesizer. Some free books are available, but the vast majority are for purchase for reasonable prices.
