1) Cisco Academy for the Visually Impaired is now accepting enrollments for their second semester starting in July. The cost is $500 but as always scholarships are granted to those who are paying for their own courses bringing the cost down to $150 with the option of a payment plan if needed. 2) For some time, Chip Orange has been offering free weekly classes on developing apps for window-Eyes. Now, Gw Micro will maintain the archive of classes and an RSS feed. Past classes can be found at

3) HIMS has released version 6 of the firmware for the Braille Sense and Voice Sense, including much better connectivity options, access to Google Talk for voice and text chat, and more.

4) National Industries for the Blind offers the Joseph Roeder Assistive Technology (AT) Scholarship, which is a $2,500 grant to an individual who is blind, interested in pursuing education in computer science, information systems or a related field and pursuing a career in access technology. Applications for the $2,500 grant are due by July 8.

5) The iBlink app is now available for Android phones. This free app from Serotek gives access to blindness-related podcasts, radio stations, and radio reading services.

6) HumanWare is giving away a Trekker Breeze or a $300 gift certificate to people who write success stories regarding their products which they can use for marketing on the web site. Stories are due by June 8.
