1) We can all listen to the presentation given by Mike Calvo of Serotek to the National Federation of the Blind convention.

2) Serotek has introduced a program to run on the Levelstar Ocon or on the Brailleplus which lets users of those devices access movies and media from the System Access Mobile Network and log onto their home computer while using those portable devices.

3) "PayPal, the Easiest Way To Pay and Get Paid" will be the topic for the free online Tek Talk training to beheld on GMT Tuesday, 15 July at 00:00.

4) Code Factory has released version 3.60 of Mobile Speak, the screen reader for mobile phones operating under the Symbian operating system. This free upgrade provides support for the third-edition web browser and claims to offer support for many newer phones and some phones which are about to be released.

J.J. Meddaugh offers Mobile Speak for a reduced price of $249 through the end of July.

5) Speaking of J.J., he recorded a lot of interviews during the National Federation of the Blind convention, and he's now posting them. This page is the one to scan to find interviews on tech, and a few non-tech, subjects that might interest you.

6) Humanware has released four new video magnifiers in different sizes and configurations. Two are available now, one will become available in a few weeks, and one shortly thereafter.

7) Humanware has also announced the release of Trekker maps 3.1 and Map Manager 2.0 for use with the Trekker GPS system. Free map upgrades are available through the end of July.

8) Kathy Ann Murtha will offer a free mini-seminar on the Office 2007 and Windows Vista interfaces, on GMT Friday, 11 July at 23:00. Log in with your full name and the password "free":

9) ESR is a Philippine company offering a scripted version of Nokia PC Suite as well as a more accessible version of the Nokia Audio Book Manager, all this for Nokia mobile phones.

10) Drs. Amy McKenzie and Susan Miller of Florida State University are conducting an online survey about internet usage and social support and quality of life in persons with visual impairment. They seek participants.

11) “A ZoomText Workshop will be given at the Martin Luther King Jr. Library’s computer lab in Washington, DC, on August 6th from 5:30 - 7:30 pm. The training will be provided by Ai Squared’s Maurie Hill. Cost is $50. Please email for more information and registration.”
