We in North America are beginning our four-month sojourn on standard time, so as usual, for North American listeners, the Main Menu program will begin an hour earlier because its time is tied to GMT, while listeners elsewhere in the world will notice no difference. The reverse is true for Tek Talk, whose time is tied to US time, so if you're used to tuning in in North America, nothing will change, but elsewhere, programs will air one hour GMT later than before. It isn't as confusing as it sounds.

1) JAWS version 10 has been released, featuring a Tandem mode allowing users to train other JAWS users, a well-conceived AutoForms mode to simplify web use, and access to some previously inaccessible Web 2.0 content, among other enhancements.

2) Jamal Mazrui has created a Window-Eyes script to burn the contents of a folder to cd.

4) If you listen to Stocking Stuffers, Part 2 through Tek Talk this week, you'll learn about a variety of gift ideas available from American Printing House for the Blind, Sight Connection and B&R Samizdat Express. The live airing will take place on GMT Tuesday, 11 November at 01:00, with the archive to come later in the week from the same address.

6) Assistive Technology Center has upped the price of its online trainings, increased their length to 1.5 hours, and begun conducting them via Skype or by phone. The three $75 Thursday sessions to be offered during November starting at 21:30 GMT are: Zip me up, please: 6 November; Victor, is that you?
: 13 November; and Leap of Faith: 20 November.

Tidbits is intentionally concise, but I know a lot of people don't understand many of the items because little explanation is given. If a Tidbit brings up a question in your mind, feel free to ask, and I'll answer as time, knowledge and inclination permit.
