JAWS Power Tip: How To Archive And Delete Messages in Gmail With JAWS
Released: 1/4/2024
Archiving a message removes it from the inbox, and places it in the All Mail label.
Archive messages if you may need them later but don't want them to reside in your inbox.
Deleting a message sends it to the Trash label where you can go to permanently delete it.
Ensure the JAWS Virtual PC Cursor is toggled off by pressing INSERT+Z when archiving and deleting messages.
To archive or delete a message:
1. Navigate to a message you want to archive or delete, then press X to select it.
2. Press E to archive the message, or # (SHIFT+3 on the number row) to delete it.
Stream or download parts 1 and 2 of our training on transitioning from Basic HTML View to Standard View in Gmail with JAWS for additional details and to learn other tasks.
