Top Tech Tidbits is Growing
In case you didn't know, Top Tech Tidbits is growing!
On June 17, 2024, Top Tech Tidbits surpassed 20,000 weekly readers.
I wanted to take this opportunity to address this growth, how we were able to achieve it, and what it means for the future of the Top Tech Tidbits newsletter for readers, sponsors and advertisers.
How Was Top Tech Tidbits Able To Achieve This Growth?
Let's start with the how. Below I will include a more extensive list of the initiatives that helped us to achieve this growth but I will briefly touch on the primary initiative here. Namely, partnerships.
Many, many access companies and organizations want to offer their constituents free, timely, trusted and current access technology information each week.
But let's be honest, there are not a lot of options out there. At the very least, no free options that offer the quality, quantity and frequency of access technology information provided by Top Tech Tidbits.
So we take our responsibility to promote this information very seriously. And thankfully, so have our Partners.
Some of our most successful partnership initiatives have been as simple as placing a check box on a partner website that read, "I would like to receive free, trusted access technology news each week. Top Tech Tidbits is the world's #1 online resource for current news and trends in access technology. We support Top Tech Tidbits." And with that we would provide them with our master subscriber link: https://toptechtidbits.com/subscribe to link it to.
Their constituents begin receiving free timely, trusted, human-curated access technology news each week, and they rejoice.
Access company or organization provides new high quality service to constituents at no cost. They rejoice.
Top Tech Tidbits gains news subscribers. Readers, sponsors, supporters and advertisers rejoice.
Other Factors That Led to this Growth
Below is a list of other factors that contributed to this growth:
1.) Effective Marketing and Partnerships: Collaborating with organizations and influencers within the accessibility community has expanded the newsletter's reach. These partnerships have introduced Top Tech Tidbits to new audiences, driving subscriber growth.

20,000 weekly readers is a significant milestone. It reflects the hard work, dedication, and quality of content provided by a team that truly loves what they do.
This achievement opens up new opportunities for enhancing content, expanding reach, and building an even larger access community, ensuring a bright future for both Top Tech Tidbits and its readers.
How Will Sponsorship and Advertisement Pricing Scale As Readership Grows?
I released an update back on April 11, 2024, titled, "An Open Letter To All Current And Future Top Tech Tidbits And Access Information News Sponsors. A Note About Sponsorship Package Pricing." If you don't recall this update, please review before you read on.
At the time of the April 11, 2024 announcement, Top Tech Tidbits readership had grown to almost 16,000 subscribers per week, more than double the 7,500 subscribers the publication had at the time most sponsors came on board. So some sponsors naturally began asking whether or not a price increase might be on the horizon.
I put out the April 11, 2024 update to address this question specifically. In it I answered the above question with a resounding "no," there would not be any future price increases for current sponsors. So that, of course, will not change.
But that does not mean that we can keep the price of sponsorships and advertisements the same for future sponsors and advertisers. Here's why.
The more people that we send the newsletter to each week, the higher the cost becomes to send the newsletter overall. As an internationally compliant newsletter Top Tech Tidbits is charged based on the number of emails that it sends per month. So, at 20K subscribers, we're sending approximately 80,000 emails per month. As readership increases, you can see how this cost will scale.
So we're going to scale the cost of future sponsorship packages and advertisements to match readership, using a fixed rate based on a fixed number of subscribers.
Once a publication reaches 20,000 subscribers, that fixed rate will be $50 USD per month per 10K subscribers.
So, at 20K subscribers, sponsors pay $100 / month. Which is the current rate for Sponsorship. And the rate that all Sponsors are currently paying.
Again, this will not change for current Sponsors for as long as they keep their current Sponsorship. This is our way of saying thank you for supporting Top Tech Tidbits from the beginning. As readership grows, you will continue to enjoy your current Sponsorship rate, for as long as you choose to remain a Sponsor.
Only new Sponsors and Advertisers will be affected by the new rate that will kick in at 30,000 subscribers. ($150 / month.)
Assuming we can get there. Which I believe we can. Maybe in the next 6-8 months. So if you've been on the fence about becoming a Top Tech Tidbits Sponsor, now is a great time to get on board and lock in that $100 / month rate.
For consistency, this new fixed rate will apply to the Access Information News and AI-Weekly newsletters as well. So if you've been thinking about sponsoring either of those publications, I encourage you to join prior to 30K subscribers, to lock in the current $100 / month rate.
